!!IMPORTANT UPDATES RE HANSEN DAM RIDE!!
Due to illness, the ride from Canoga Park to Hansen Dam has been canceled. Riders, please go straight Hansen Dam. Enter on Dronfield (off Osborne) and turn right and left to the lower lot.
SoCal AMCA chapter president Tim Graber will be there by 8:30am. He will set up an area in the far right hand corner of the parking lot as you come in. Look for his white truck.
Ride departs at 10AM sharp.
Note: The Norton club has never cancelled a ride due to a weather FORECAST. See: http://socalnorton.com/wp/calendar/
This event is the Norton Club-sponsored British ride out of Hansen Dam in Sunland. SoCal AMCA is invited to attend every year and usually we have a good showing.
You ask, "Why should I attend??" This ride is not just the biggest antique British motorcycle event in Los Angeles, or the biggest in California, it’s the biggest in the United States and probably England as well! Upwards of 800 classic bikes attend the rally, and to say its impressive is an understatement!!!
See message from SoCal Norton Club for more info...
The routes are through the mountains and are always on less-traveled roads. The ride, as always, is the first Sunday of November, leaving the Dam at 10:00 a.m. Anyone who rides a Brit bike gets a free ride pin!
***Note - No Longer Happening Due To Illness: (Ride Captain Craig Dillmann is doing his traditional meet-up and ride from his house at 22012 Londelius St., West Hills. We're leaving at 8:30am. Be there or be square! Craig needs a headcount! If interested, call him at (818) 347-6583 or (818) 337-9934. )
Message from SoCal Norton Club:
Join us for the Southern California Norton Owners Club's biggest event of the year, the 38th Annual Hansen Dam Ride & Show! Get that classic Brit bike ready for show or for the road and join us for a day of fun. Here's a chance to chat with fellow riders, kick tires, and be part of the largest gathering of British motorcycle enthusiasts in the West. Several hundred vintage and rare bikes will be on hand.
There will be a Peoples' Choice judged bike competition this year, complete with trophies for Best Norton, Best Triumph, and so on.
We meet at the lower lot. Enter on Dronfield Avenue off of Osbourne Street. Festivities start at 7:30 am so be there early to get a good spot for your bike. There will be T-shirts, patches, coffee, donuts, and burgers for sale to support the club. The SCNOC Hansen Dam T-shirts have become prized possessions for those who own them from previous years. The ones this year are once again awesome.
The exciting highlight of the day will be the annual ride up into the scenic San Gabriel mountains and Angeles Crest leaving from the parking lot at 10 am sharp and returning to Hansen Dam in the early afternoon for the show. Ride maps will be distributed at the meet and will take into account any road closures. Riders on British iron will get free pins at the end of the ride.
Southern California Norton Owners Club. Ride hard.
